34th Annual Conference of the International Computer Archive of Modern and Medieval English

22-26 May 2013: the research teams VLCG (Variation, Linguistic Change and Grammaticalization) and SPERTUS (Spoken English Research Team at the University of Santiago de Compostela), both affiliated to the Department of English and German at Santiago de Compostela, hosted the 34th International Conference of the International Computer Archive of Modern and Medieval English (ICAME34). Prior meetings in the series were held at Lancaster (2009), Giessen (2010), Oslo (2011) and KU Leuven (2012), among other universities abroad.

Over 200 participants from 24 different countries and international organisations attended. Professors Jenny Cheshire (Queen Mary, University of London), Holger Diessel (Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena), Marianne Hundt (University of Zurich) and Ken Hyland (University of Hong Kong) gave plenary presentations.
