  • Axudas de Apoio á Etapa Predoutoral da Xunta de Galicia

    Application deadline: 9 September 2013. The ‘Axudas de Apoio á Etapa Predoutoral do Plan I2C’ are three-year PhD fellowships funded by the Autonomous Government of Galicia. Recipients receive a salary of 19,000 EUR per year and all regular provisions for university research fellows, including office space. To apply for a Plan I2C fellowship you must have a confirmed PhD supervisor belonging to one of the institutions of higher education in Galicia (UDC, USC or UVigo).   • IWodA’13: Second International Workshop on Discourse Analysis

    19-21 June 2013: the Faculty of Philology (USC) hosted IWoDA’13. The workshop was organized by the same teams that made the first edition, IWoDA’11, such a great success in 2011: SCIMITAR (Santiago-Centred International Milieu for Interactional, Typological and Acquisitional Research) and D&I (Discourse & Identity), two research groups affiliated to the Department of English and German of the University of Santiago de Compostela.   • 34th Annual Conference of the International Computer Archive of Modern and Medieval English

    22-26 May 2013: the research teams VLCG (Variation, Linguistic Change and Grammaticalization) and SPERTUS (Spoken English Research Team at the University of Santiago de Compostela), both affiliated to the Department of English and German at Santiago de Compostela, hosted the 34th International Conference of the International Computer Archive of Modern and Medieval English (ICAME34). Prior meetings in the series were held at Lancaster (2009), Giessen (2010), Oslo (2011) and KU Leuven (2012), among other universities abroad. Over 200 participants from 24 different countries and international organisations attended.
